is an organization of and for electrical engineering students from universities,
institutes or schools of technology in Europe that award an engineering degree.
The primary aim is to promote and develop international contacts and exchange ideas,
as well as improve the technical knowledge of electrical engineering students. The
association also aims to introducing students to the industry and the educational
system of other countries.
     The primary of EESTEC
is to promote and develop international contacts by exchanges. The exchange of ideas,
as well as improvement of technical acknowledgement between electrical engineering
students is made possible through workshops. EESTEC is also promoting international
career and job opportunities. For example, one of the on going projects in that
field is to make a database of electrical engineering professionals so that the
companies can easily find suitable people for their purposes throughout Europe.
     The electrical engineering aspects of EESTEC are expressed
through , the most important activity
of the Association. During a one week seminar lectures are presented by specialists
from the industry and universities, and discussions are conducted in small group
sessions. The subjects are for example new technologies, special fields of electrical
engineering or social aspects of engineering. An EESTEC Workshop is a strictly professional
event with a bit of local sightseeing and feasting.
     In the students
from two or more Local Committees visit each other for about ten days. During these
multilateral meetings the participants gain their awareness of the foreign university
reality, industry and cultural aspects. It offers practically unlimited possibilities
to the organizers.
     The EESTEC is
the annual General Assembly of the Association in one of the member cities. During
this meeting the current affairs of EESTEC are discussed and decided upon. It should
be a place and occasion to discuss organizational matters and operating policies,
to elect the new Board, to establish Exchanges and Workshops, etc.
